In 2022, the average liquefied propane import price amounted to $1,327 per ton, rising by 117% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,506 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United Arab Emirates.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United Arab Emirates amounted to -4.3% per year.

In 2022, purchases abroad of liquefied propanes decreased by -22.5% to 15 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports saw a perceptible slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 26%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 21 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, liquefied propane imports skyrocketed to $20K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
