Liqueurs and Cordials Price in Belgium (FOB) - 2023
The average liqueurs and cordials export price stood at $7.7 per litre in June 2023, reducing by -29.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 28% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $10.9 per litre in May 2023, and then plummeted in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($12.2 per litre), while the average price for exports to Togo ($1.7 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average liqueurs and cordials import price stood at $4.5 per litre in June 2023, reducing by -12.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 25% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $5.5 per litre in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Luxembourg ($9.9 per litre), while the price for Italy ($3.4 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Liqueurs and Cordials Exports in Belgium
In 2022, overseas shipments of liqueurs and cordialses decreased by -67.3% to 8.4M litres for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a noticeable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 223%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at 26M litres in 2021, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, liqueurs and cordials exports fell rapidly to $59M in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 258%. The exports peaked at $183M in 2021, and then fell sharply in the following year.
