In June 2023, the average liqueurs and cordials import price amounted to $2.9 per litre, increasing by 2.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 43% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $3.0 per litre in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6.8 per litre), while the price for Japan ($1.0 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In June 2023, the average liqueurs and cordials export price amounted to $5.1 per litre, which is down by -26.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 159% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $9.3 per litre in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($6.0 per litre), while the average price for exports to the United States totaled $4.5 per litre.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+36.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Liqueurs and Cordials Imports in China
In 2022, purchases abroad of liqueurs and cordialses decreased by -15.6% to 31M litres for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.7% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 36M litres, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
In value terms, liqueurs and cordials imports plummeted to $82M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 34%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $146M, and then shrank significantly in the following year.

In 2022, liqueurs and cordials exports from China contracted markedly to 693K litres, declining by -57.7% on the previous year. In general, exports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 2,585%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 1.6M litres, and then declined notably in the following year.
In value terms, liqueurs and cordials exports shrank markedly to $5M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase.
