Liqueurs and Cordials Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average liqueurs and cordials export price amounted to $6.6 per litre, picking up by 18% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a modest expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 32% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $6.8 per litre. From January 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($9.1 per litre), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($3.4 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average liqueurs and cordials import price stood at $6.7 per litre in 2022, growing by 9.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average import price increased by 23% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $8.7 per litre in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($9.7 per litre), while the price for France ($3.3 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Liqueurs and Cordials Exports in the Netherlands
In 2022, approx. 39M litres of liqueurs and cordialses were exported from the Netherlands; rising by 41% on 2021. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +17.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +83.1% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, liqueurs and cordials exports expanded markedly to $259M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +51.9% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 34%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 16%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $127M, leveling off in the following year.
