Live Fish Price in Bangladesh (FOB) - 2022
The average live fish export price stood at $3,771 per ton in 2022, picking up by 4.2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $4,093 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($12,441 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($1,214 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+14.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, import price reached the peak level of $45,990 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($102,845 per ton), while the price for India ($4,476 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
