The average live fish export price stood at $1,855 per ton in March 2022, declining by -23.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2021 when the average export price increased by 64% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $9,918 per ton in March 2021; however, from April 2021 to March 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Russia ($3,027 per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia stood at $1,771 per ton.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average live fish import price stood at $21,640 per ton in 2022, which is down by -5.4% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last decade.
