Lubricant Additives Price in China (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average lubricant additives import price amounted to $4,231 per ton, which is down by -5.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 7.8% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $4,674 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,254 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($3,434 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Lubricant Additives Price in China (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average lubricant additives export price amounted to $3,399 per ton, rising by 2.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 6% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $3,655 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($4,477 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($2,801 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Lubricant Additives Imports in China
In 2022, the amount of prepared additives for mineral oils imported into China fell rapidly to 295K tons, with a decrease of -27.1% on the year before. Overall, imports recorded a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 405K tons, and then contracted notably in the following year.
In value terms, lubricant additives imports dropped to $1.2B in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern.
