The average lysine import price stood at $1,014 per ton in September 2023, jumping by 56% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable setback. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,605 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for China.

The average lysine export price stood at $2,587 per ton in 2022, rising by 117% against the previous year. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Papua New Guinea (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
