Maize Bran Price in Spain (FOB) - 2023
The average maize bran export price stood at $437 per ton in June 2023, falling by -18.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a slight reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 13% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $570 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($1,739 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($324 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Maize Bran Price in Spain (CIF) - 2023
The average maize bran import price stood at $508 per ton in June 2023, surging by 9.6% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 27% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,643 per ton), while the price for France ($425 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+18.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Maize Bran Exports in Spain
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of maize bran, when their volume decreased by -14.9% to 17K tons. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 627%.
In value terms, maize bran exports rose notably to $8.8M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 344%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
