Maize (Green) Price in Belarus (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average maize (green) import price amounted to $839 per ton, surging by 69% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a mild reduction. The import price peaked at $1,043 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($2,335 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($382 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Yemen (+18.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Maize (Green) Price in Belarus (FOB) - 2022

In March 2022, the average maize (green) export price amounted to $1,146 per ton, growing by 2.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2021 an increase of 133% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in March 2022.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to +11.3% per month.

Maize (Green) Imports in Belarus

In 2022, the amount of maize (green) imported into Belarus shrank dramatically to 1.9K tons, waning by -77.7% on the previous year's figure. Overall, imports faced a dramatic curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 137% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 8.5K tons, and then fell sharply in the following year.

In value terms, maize (green) imports declined markedly to $1.6M in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a precipitous shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 69%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $4.2M, and then contracted markedly in the following year.
