Maize (Green) Price in Mexico (FOB) - 2024
The average maize (green) export price stood at $928 per ton in February 2024, standing approximately at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2023 an increase of 21% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,048 per ton. From January 2024 to February 2024, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In February 2024, the country with the highest price was the United States ($928 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada amounted to $928 per ton.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+0.0%).

The average maize (green) import price stood at $1,875 per ton in February 2024, increasing by 17% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2023 an increase of 33% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,777 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to February 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United States amounted to -2.6% per month.
Maize (Green) Exports in Mexico
