Maize Oil Price in Belarus (CIF) - 2022
The average maize oil import price stood at $1,641 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -5.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 23%. The import price peaked at $2,085 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($2,257 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($942 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (-0.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average maize oil export price amounted to $1,245 per ton, reducing by -5.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 16%. The export price peaked at $2,683 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to -7.4% per year.
Maize Oil Imports in Belarus
For the fourth year in a row, Belarus recorded growth in overseas purchases of maize oil, which increased by 61% to 645 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw significant growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, maize oil imports skyrocketed to $1.1M in 2022. In general, imports posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 94% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
