Mandarins Price in Bangladesh (CIF) - 2022

The average mandarins import price stood at $1,171 per ton in 2022, picking up by 18% against the previous year. In general, the import price enjoyed buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 27%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,333 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($1,399 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($474 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Morocco (+20.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average mandarins export price stood at $861 per ton in 2021, standing approx. at the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 12% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,012 per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($1,025 per ton), while the average price for exports to Oman stood at $346 per ton.

From 2017 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (-4.2%).

Mandarins Imports in Bangladesh

In 2022, mandarins imports into Bangladesh amounted to 49K tons, increasing by 4.6% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -4.2% against 2020 indices. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -15.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 76% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $68M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
