The average mandarins import price stood at $939 per ton in March 2022, picking up by 4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2021 when the average import price increased by 41% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,359 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to March 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Turkey ($1,069 per ton) and Morocco ($1,027 per ton), while the price for Russia ($746 per ton) and Pakistan ($788 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
