Mandarins Price in Ireland (CIF) - 2023

In July 2023, the average mandarins import price amounted to $2,142 per ton, rising by 83% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a resilient expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.4% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, mandarins import price increased by +83.2% against June 2023 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,724 per ton), while the price for Spain ($517 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Mandarins Price in Ireland (FOB) - 2022

The average mandarins export price stood at $2,094 per ton in 2022, growing by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $2,340 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,396 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($2,085 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+14.1%).

Mandarins Imports in Ireland

For the fourth consecutive year, Ireland recorded growth in purchases abroad of fruit, edible, which increased by 3.4% to 18K tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated significant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +23.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +89.8% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 68%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, mandarins imports rose rapidly to $23M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +23.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +88.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 61%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Mandarins Exports in Ireland

For the third consecutive year, Ireland recorded decline in overseas shipments of fruit, edible, which decreased by -58% to 162 tons in 2022. In general, exports showed a dramatic shrinkage. The smallest decline of -20.7% was in 2020.

In value terms, mandarins exports reduced markedly to $338K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports faced a significant curtailment. The smallest decline of -16.9% was in 2020.
