In July 2023, the average mandarins import price amounted to $1,458 per ton, which is down by -3.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 44% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,839 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($2,143 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($676 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+48.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
