Mandarins Price in Thailand (CIF) - 2023
The average mandarins import price stood at $1,887 per ton in September 2023, reducing by -2.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2023 an increase of 24% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,928 per ton, and then declined modestly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Australia ($1,900 per ton), while the price for China stood at $1,236 per ton.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+4.3%).

In September 2023, the average mandarins export price amounted to $1,185 per ton, with an increase of 21% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a moderate expansion from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.7% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, mandarins export price increased by +34.5% against July 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 25% month-to-month. The export price peaked in September 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($2,267 per ton), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($856 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Myanmar (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Mandarins Imports in Thailand
In 2022, supplies from abroad of fruit, edible decreased by -1.5% to 100K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 106%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 103K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, mandarins imports declined to $109M in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 77%.

Mandarins Exports in Thailand
For the fourth year in a row, Thailand recorded growth in shipments abroad of fruit, edible, which increased by 45% to 2.5K tons in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 71% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, mandarins exports skyrocketed to $1.6M in 2022. In general, exports saw significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 66%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
