Mandarins Price in the Dominican Republic (CIF) - 2023

In March 2023, the average mandarins import price amounted to $2,711 per ton, surging by 14% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 19% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $3,793 per ton in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to March 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.

From March 2022 to March 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Peru amounted to +2.1% per month.

Mandarins Price in the Dominican Republic (FOB) - 2022

The average mandarins export price stood at $1,730 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 47% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a abrupt slump. The export price peaked at $3,414 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,069 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($743 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Mandarins Imports in the Dominican Republic

In 2022, overseas purchases of fruit, edible decreased by -14.9% to 1.1K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 73% against the previous year.

In value terms, mandarins imports declined dramatically to $2.4M in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 95% against the previous year.

After two years of decline, shipments abroad of fruit, edible increased by 139% to 3.5 tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a sharp downturn.

In value terms, mandarins exports soared to $6K in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a dramatic slump.
