Mandarins Price in Uganda (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average mandarins export price amounted to $473 per ton, picking up by 12% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 28% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $2,953 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($2,285 per ton), while the average price for exports to Botswana amounted to $420 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kenya (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Mandarins Price in Uganda (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average mandarins import price amounted to $781 per ton, increasing by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a perceptible downturn. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,164 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($917 per ton), while the price for Egypt totaled $780 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (-2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Mandarins Exports in Uganda

Mandarins exports from Uganda contracted dramatically to 9.5 tons in 2022, which is down by -49.9% compared with the previous year. In general, exports faced a dramatic slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 533% against the previous year.

In value terms, mandarins exports declined markedly to $4.5K in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a sharp slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 710% against the previous year.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of fruit, edible was finally on the rise to reach 1.5 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant decline.

In value terms, mandarins imports soared to $1.1K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a precipitous slump.
