The average manganese oxides export price stood at $1,571 per ton in 2022, dropping by -6.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 13%. The export price peaked at $1,707 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($3,162 per ton), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($1,259 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2023, the average manganese oxides import price amounted to $1,468 per ton, falling by -33.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price faced a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2023 an increase of 372% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $15,372 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($37,944 per ton), while the price for Norway ($1,189 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+15.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
