The average manganese oxides import price stood at $986 per ton in January 2022, rising by 6.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2021 when the average import price increased by 17% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,196 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to January 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Norway ($1,071 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($530 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average manganese oxides export price stood at $2,718 per ton in 2022, approximately mirroring the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate notable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 111%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($7,832 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($1,852 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+30.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Manganese Oxides Imports in Russia
Manganese oxides imports into Russia declined rapidly to 13K tons in 2022, reducing by -34.1% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports showed a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 75%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 20K tons, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
