Manuka Price in Poland (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average manuka import price amounted to $2,283 per ton, dropping by -5.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,473 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($10,635 per ton), while the price for China ($1,390 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Manuka Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
The average manuka export price stood at $3,214 per ton in July 2023, picking up by 5% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 24% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $3,596 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($5,588 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($1,892 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Manuka Imports in Poland
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of manuka, when their volume decreased by -16.5% to 31K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year.
In value terms, manuka imports declined significantly to $72M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 29% against the previous year.

Manuka Exports in Poland
In 2022, overseas shipments of manuka decreased by -20% to 15K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports recorded a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 46% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 25K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, manuka exports plummeted to $53M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +7.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
