Stationery Product Consumption in France - 2022

In 2022, after three years of decline, there was growth in consumption of stationery products, when its volume increased by 4% to 374K tons. Overall, consumption, however, showed a pronounced decrease. As a result, consumption attained the peak volume of 537K tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the consumption remained at a lower figure.

The revenue of the stationery product market in France shrank dramatically to $1.2B in 2022, declining by -17.6% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). In general, consumption, however, recorded a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the market value increased by 8.3%. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $1.8B in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.
