Metal Domestic Furniture Price in Bulgaria (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average metal domestic furniture import price amounted to $3,479 per ton, increasing by 2.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $4,215 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Taiwan (Chinese) ($3,898 per ton) and Turkey ($3,348 per ton), while the price for China ($2,740 per ton) and Ukraine ($2,821 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Metal Domestic Furniture Price in Bulgaria (FOB) - 2023
The average metal domestic furniture export price stood at $4,187 per ton in July 2023, waning by -2.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 8.3% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,465 per ton. From May 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Georgia ($11,102 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($3,590 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Georgia (+8.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Metal Domestic Furniture Imports in Bulgaria
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of metal furniture decreased by -8.4% to 32K tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +42.2% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 30% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 35K tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, metal domestic furniture imports reduced modestly to $120M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +63.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 52% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $123M, and then reduced in the following year.

Metal Domestic Furniture Exports in Bulgaria
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of metal furniture, when their volume decreased by -5.3% to 27K tons. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 18%.
In value terms, metal domestic furniture exports expanded sharply to $106M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +65.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 26%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
