The average metals; palladium, semi-manufactured import price stood at $38.4M per ton in July 2023, declining by -13.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 166% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $65.6M per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Africa ($41.8M per ton), while the price for Italy ($17.4M per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $43,762,826 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($69,183,645 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK stood at $12,796,746 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+38.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
