In 2022, the average mica; powder import price amounted to $909 per ton, falling by -4.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 36%. The import price peaked at $954 per ton in 2021, and then declined modestly in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($1,042 per ton), while the price for Malaysia stood at $908 per ton.
From 2015 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+31.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
