The average mica; waste import price stood at $2,038 per ton in 2022, remaining stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 24%. The import price peaked at $9,164 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for India.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Portugal amounted to +5.1% per year.
Mica; Waste Imports in Ghana
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of mica; wastes decreased by -8.2% to 957 kg in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.6% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 17%.
