In June 2023, the average milled rice import price amounted to $1,528 per ton, growing by 3.9% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 9.1% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($2,291 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($820 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Milled Rice Price in Finland (FOB) - 2022
The average milled rice export price stood at $1,432 per ton in 2022, reducing by -12.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 28%. The export price peaked at $1,641 per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($1,445 per ton), while the average price for exports to Estonia amounted to $1,359 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Estonia (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Milled Rice Imports in Finland
