Miscellaneous Ferro-Alloys Price in Hong Kong SAR (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average miscellaneous ferro-alloys export price amounted to $42,904 per ton, dropping by -35.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 1,663% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $76,470 per ton. From November 2022 to June 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for China.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to +22.3% per month.
Miscellaneous Ferro-Alloys Price in Hong Kong SAR (CIF) - 2022
The average miscellaneous ferro-alloys import price stood at $21,289 per ton in 2022, picking up by 146% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 206%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $32,928 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($27,390 per ton), while the price for China ($1,355 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+21.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Miscellaneous Ferro-Alloys Exports in Hong Kong SAR
In 2022, overseas shipments of miscellaneous ferro-alloys decreased by -17.1% to 115 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
