Molybdenum Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022
The average molybdenum export price stood at $32,078 per ton in January 2022, rising by 1.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a tangible expansion from January 2021 to January 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.7% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on January 2022 figures, molybdenum export price increased by +2.3% against November 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2021 when the average export price increased by 19% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $32,111 per ton in October 2021; afterwards, it flattened through to January 2022.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Estonia.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Estonia amounted to +4.7% per month.

In 2022, the average molybdenum import price amounted to $35,526 per ton, dropping by -4.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, molybdenum import price increased by +5.7% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $38,553 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Belarus.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Uzbekistan amounted to +8.9% per year.
