In August 2023, the average mullite import price amounted to $473 per ton, picking up by 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 47% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $886 per ton. From November 2022 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,658 per ton), while the price for Germany ($329 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average mullite export price amounted to $4,817 per ton, growing by 216% against the previous year. Overall, the export price posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 259%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($5,413 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($684 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+25.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
