In 2022, the average mullite import price amounted to $587 per ton, with a decrease of -71.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price faced a abrupt setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 90% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,952 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($715 per ton), while the price for Germany totaled $584 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (-18.0%).
Mullite Imports in Ukraine
For the fourth year in a row, Ukraine recorded growth in overseas purchases of mullites, which increased by 115% to 20 tons in 2022. In general, imports showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 3,312% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, mullite imports fell dramatically to $12K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 2,732% against the previous year.
