Mushroom and Truffle Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2023
In September 2023, the average mushroom and truffle export price amounted to $2,855 per ton, shrinking by -13.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 an increase of 12% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $3,288 per ton in August 2023, and then reduced in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Norway ($3,660 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($1,959 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Mushroom and Truffle Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average mushroom and truffle import price amounted to $1,752 per ton, waning by -53% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 69%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $4,812 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($5,847 per ton), while the price for Poland totaled $1,561 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (-1.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Mushroom and Truffle Exports in Lithuania
In 2022, shipments abroad of mushrooms and truffles decreased by -30.7% to 9.5K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports showed a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 4.6%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 16K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, mushroom and truffle exports contracted rapidly to $23M in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a significant curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 4.3%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $61M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
