Nail and Bolt Price in Peru (CIF) - 2021
In April 2020, the average nail and bolt import price amounted to $3,881 per ton, declining by -24.7% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a resilient increase from January 2020 to April 2020: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +9.7% over the last three months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on April 2020 figures, nail and bolt import price decreased by -24.7% against March 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2020 when the average import price increased by 38% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $5,154 per ton in March 2020, and then fell remarkably in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2020, the country with the highest price was the United States ($19,344 per ton), while the price for China ($1,599 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2020 to April 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+8.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Nail and Bolt Price in Peru (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average nail and bolt export price amounted to $1,378 per ton, declining by -5.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $1,643 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ecuador ($2,660 per ton), while the average price for exports to Colombia ($855 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Colombia (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Nail and Bolt Imports in Peru
In 2022, the amount of nails, tacks, staples, screws and bolts imported into Peru dropped significantly to 39K tons, shrinking by -18.2% on 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 57%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 48K tons, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
In value terms, nail and bolt imports contracted significantly to $142M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a slight expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +30.3% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 61% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $174M, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

Nail and Bolt Exports in Peru
In 2022, the amount of nails, tacks, staples, screws and bolts exported from Peru dropped to 5.6K tons, which is down by -7.5% on 2021. In general, exports showed a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 14%.
In value terms, nail and bolt exports reduced to $7.7M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a pronounced decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $8.8M, and then dropped in the following year.
