Nitrogen Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2022
The average nitrogen import price stood at $6.8 per cubic meter in 2022, increasing by 667% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a noticeable setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 2,584%. The import price peaked at $43 per cubic meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($8.3 per cubic meter), while the price for Germany ($0.5 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+14.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Nitrogen Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2022
The average nitrogen export price stood at $0.2 per cubic meter in 2022, jumping by 16% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a deep reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average export price increased by 62%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $0.8 per cubic meter. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lao People's Democratic Republic ($0.4 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Cambodia ($0.2 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+19.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Nitrogen Imports in Vietnam
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of nitrogen decreased by -87% to 78K cubic meters in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 778%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 605K cubic meters, and then declined remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, nitrogen imports shrank modestly to $529K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 1.2%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $646K in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Nitrogen Exports in Vietnam
In 2022, exports of nitrogen from Vietnam contracted remarkably to 1.2M cubic meters, dropping by -19.7% compared with 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate a abrupt descent. The smallest decline of -7% was in 2021. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at 1.9M cubic meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, nitrogen exports fell to $213K in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a noticeable decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 16%.
