Non-Cellular Polypropylene Film Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
In January 2022, the average non-cellular polypropylene film import price amounted to $3,934 per ton, picking up by 2.5% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2021 an increase of 12% month-to-month. The import price peaked in January 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($7,507 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan ($2,506 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Non-Cellular Polypropylene Film Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022
The average non-cellular polypropylene film export price stood at $2,511 per ton in January 2022, with an increase of 4.1% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a notable expansion from January 2021 to January 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on January 2022 figures, non-cellular polypropylene film export price increased by +26.0% against November 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2021 when the average export price increased by 28% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,984 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to January 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($4,303 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($2,025 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Non-Cellular Polypropylene Film Imports in Russia
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of non-cellular polypropylene films, sheets, foil and strip, when their volume decreased by -7.1% to 69K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 74K tons, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, non-cellular polypropylene film imports reduced to $233M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 38%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $270M, and then fell in the following year.

Non-Cellular Polypropylene Film Exports in Russia
In 2022, overseas shipments of non-cellular polypropylene films, sheets, foil and strip decreased by -6.8% to 84K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 90K tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, non-cellular polypropylene film exports dropped rapidly to $164M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +28.3% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 56%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $200M, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
