In November 2023, the average non-liquid margarine export price amounted to $2,105 per ton, with a decrease of -3.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2023 when the average export price increased by 14% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,263 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to November 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($2,609 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($1,607 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average non-liquid margarine import price stood at $1,455 per ton in November 2023, with an increase of 9.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $1,643 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Croatia ($2,242 per ton), while the price for North Macedonia ($1,211 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Croatia (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
