The average non-liquid margarine import price stood at $2,878 per ton in August 2023, with a decrease of -16.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 12% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,448 per ton, and then shrank dramatically in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($10,370 per ton), while the price for Poland ($2,194 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average non-liquid margarine export price stood at $1,652 per ton in 2022, increasing by 34% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 37%. As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Italy.
