In December 2022, the average non-liquid margarine export price amounted to $2,017 per ton, rising by 2.1% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2022 when the average export price increased by 14% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $2,130 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to December 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was Gambia ($2,402 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lebanon ($1,562 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Congo (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
