Non-Wheat Flour Price in Sri Lanka (FOB) - 2022
The average non-wheat flour export price stood at $1,551 per ton in 2022, increasing by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, non-wheat flour export price increased by +36.6% against 2020 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($2,490 per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($1,092 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average non-wheat flour import price amounted to $1,380 per ton, growing by 110% against the previous year. In general, the import price posted buoyant growth. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($5,891 per ton), while the price for India ($181 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+29.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
