Nonwoven Fabric Price in Ireland (CIF) - 2023
The average nonwoven fabric import price stood at $5,844 per ton in August 2023, picking up by 10% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 44% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $8,363 per ton. From March 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($25,565 per ton), while the price for China ($2,984 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Luxembourg (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Nonwoven Fabric Price in Ireland (FOB) - 2023
The average nonwoven fabric export price stood at $10,284 per ton in August 2023, picking up by 15% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 30% m-o-m. The export price peaked in August 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($63,322 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($4,612 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+14.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Nonwoven Fabric Imports in Ireland
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of nonwoven fabrics, when their volume decreased by -7.1% to 17K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 18K tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, nonwoven fabric imports rose modestly to $100M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +62.8% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 42%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 83%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $23M, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
