Nonwoven Fabric Price in Italy (FOB) - 2023
The average nonwoven fabric export price stood at $4,946 per ton in August 2023, with a decrease of -8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 12% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $5,606 per ton. From January 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($5,759 per ton), while the average price for exports to Greece ($2,763 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Nonwoven Fabric Price in Italy (CIF) - 2023
The average nonwoven fabric import price stood at $6,502 per ton in August 2023, growing by 3.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 21% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $6,873 per ton. From January 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($34,368 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($2,646 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Nonwoven Fabric Exports in Italy
After three years of growth, overseas shipments of nonwoven fabrics decreased by -13.4% to 269K tons in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a mild slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 6%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 310K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, nonwoven fabric exports declined slightly to $1.4B in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $1.5B, and then reduced in the following year.
