Nonwoven Fabric Price in Spain (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average nonwoven fabric export price amounted to $3,961 per ton, dropping by -9% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a mild contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 41% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $5,457 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Morocco ($16,036 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($2,590 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Morocco (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Nonwoven Fabric Price in Spain (CIF) - 2023
The average nonwoven fabric import price stood at $3,909 per ton in August 2023, dropping by -14.4% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 33% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $4,565 per ton in July 2023, and then fell in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($6,443 per ton), while the price for Austria ($1,873 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Nonwoven Fabric Exports in Spain
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of nonwoven fabrics, when their volume decreased by -7.1% to 99K tons. In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 3.6% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 107K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, nonwoven fabric exports rose modestly to $492M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 20%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
