Nonwoven Fabric Price in Ukraine (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average nonwoven fabric import price amounted to $3,726 per ton, dropping by -9.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 an increase of 9.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $4,316 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($12,993 per ton), while the price for Slovenia ($1,937 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Nonwoven Fabric Price in Ukraine (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average nonwoven fabric export price amounted to $3,245 per ton, shrinking by -21.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 20% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,158 per ton, and then reduced sharply in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Italy ($3,454 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($1,769 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Moldova (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Nonwoven Fabric Imports in Ukraine
In 2022, purchases abroad of nonwoven fabrics decreased by -7.6% to 28K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 32% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 33K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, nonwoven fabric imports reduced markedly to $91M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 38%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $118M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 29%.
In value terms, nonwoven fabric exports declined to $14M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
