Nuts Price in Sri Lanka (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average nuts export price amounted to $4,054 per ton, dropping by -8.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 191%. The export price peaked at $4,451 per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for India.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for India amounted to +9.6% per year.
Nuts Price in Sri Lanka (CIF) - 2022
The average nuts import price stood at $1,746 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 207% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $7,903 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Turkey ($1,548 per ton) and the United States ($1,468 per ton), while the price for India ($1,288 per ton) and Tanzania ($1,343 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Benin (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Nuts Exports in Sri Lanka
Nuts exports from Sri Lanka surged to 17K tons in 2022, growing by 61% on 2021 figures. Overall, exports saw a significant expansion.
