Oil Crops Price in Morocco (CIF) - 2022
The average oil crops import price stood at $1,001 per ton in 2022, dropping by -15.2% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, oil crops import price increased by +63.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 93% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,180 per ton, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($5,274 per ton), while the price for Argentina ($521 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+30.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average oil crops export price amounted to $2,884 per ton, dropping by -67.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 373% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $24,120 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, oil crops imports into Morocco skyrocketed to 87K tons, with an increase of 49% compared with 2021. In general, imports posted a significant increase.
