Oil Crops Price in Serbia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average oil crops export price amounted to $742 per ton, rising by 15% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 44%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($7,657 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($629 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average oil crops import price stood at $850 per ton in 2022, waning by -11.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 109%. The import price peaked at $2,473 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($2,156 per ton), while the price for Greece ($419 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Oil Crops Exports in Serbia
In 2022, shipments abroad of oil crops (primary) decreased by -29.7% to 163K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports saw a dramatic setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 459K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, oil crops exports fell markedly to $121M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $207M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
