Olive Price in Sweden (CIF) - 2022
The average olive import price stood at $4,336 per ton in 2022, declining by -17.2% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, olive import price increased by +24.1% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 50% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $5,238 per ton, and then shrank notably in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($11,638 per ton), while the price for Spain ($2,394 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average olive export price stood at $6,662 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -22.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 173%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $8,653 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($7,709 per ton), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($2,466 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Olive Imports in Sweden
Olive imports into Sweden soared to 334 tons in 2022, growing by 59% against the previous year's figure. Olive Exports in Sweden
In 2022, overseas shipments of olives decreased by -3.4% to 64 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 110% against the previous year.
