In 2022, the average onion import price amounted to $205 per ton, falling by -12.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 33%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $324 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
