Optical Fiber Cables Price in Bahrain (CIF) - 2022
The average optical fiber cables import price stood at $6,947 per ton in 2022, growing by 39% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a mild shrinkage. The import price peaked at $13,474 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($28,322 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($2,811 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average optical fiber cables export price amounted to $28,793 per ton, rising by 9.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 137%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $33,592 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Saudi Arabia.

In 2022, purchases abroad of optical fiber cables decreased by -66.3% to 784 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports, however, saw perceptible growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 239% against the previous year.
